2011 in pictures: october

october always means one of my favorite events of the year: Rhinebeck! this year Alisa and i continued our new tradition of her visiting that weekend. and for the first time, i took a class there too, a spinning class called Creating the Yarn You Want with Amy Tyler. she was an excellent teacher and i would wholeheartedly recommend her.

these three continued to grow, and we began having suspicions about two of them… but only time would tell.

Grace and Betty finished molting and grew back all of their feathers. Grace especially (the white Leghorn) looked like a whole new chicken!

for Halloween, my LYS White Barn Farm became a haunted yarn barn, and our weekly Knit Night was a Halloween party. Paula, the owner, dressed up as Marie AntoiKnit!

and just before the month wrapped up, we got a surprise freak snowfall! we got about 8″ at our house, but not far away there were reports of up to 2 feet with power outages and all kinds of trouble. such a strange weather year! we still haven’t had this much snow all winter since then…
