re: treats

i love the word “retreat”. it conjures up images of hibernating, and escaping the demands of daily life, for a hidden-away place where you are fed well and get to be creative and learn new skills…

and i’m so happy that i’m teaching at FIVE retreats this year! there’s one that i haven’t mentioned yet, and one that i’m not quite allowed to mention yet, but in the meantime there’s one happening in 2 weeks that i really should have told you about by now! well, it has been listed on my classes page for a few months, which is a good reason to keep an eye over there because i am trying to keep it as up-to-date as i can.

this will be the first-ever Yarn Cupboard Winter Fiber Arts Festival and Market, and it sounds like a lot of fun! it will be held March 25-27 in Jamesville, NY (near Syracuse i am told). i’ll be teaching, and so will my needle-wielding pals Jill and Kristy, and a bunch of other fiber artists offering workshops on knitting, spinning, dyeing and felting. there will also be a marketplace Saturday and Sunday, and Jill and I will have a booth as Double Knot Studio, selling her splendiferous yarn and our new kits and patterns.

my classes are “Crochet for Knitters” on Saturday afternoon and “Embroider Your Knit and Crochet” on Sunday morning. hope to see you there!
