VOTE for JILL!

if you know me, or even if you just read my blog, you probably have at least heard me mention my pal (and other *knot*) Jill Draper. you likely also know that she Makes Stuff. scrumptiously soft, vibrantly hand-painted, locally sourced YARN to be precise. you may be aware that she’s a brilliant knit designer. but, do you know that she’s up for a Martha Stewart American Made award? well she is, and if she wins, her business will receive $10,000 AND a spread in Martha’s magazine. can you even imagine how cool that would be?

all she need is US. she needs us ALL to vote. every day, until 9/24. it’s very simple, and takes about ten seconds. and the thoughtful folks at Martha have even made sure you won’t get roped into signing up for emails or anything unseemly.

watch the video above to find out more about what Jill believes in, and works toward, and why she deserves this. she is truly the hardest working human i know!

that’s one of Jill’s Empire *sweater skeins* of New York state Rambouillet yarn; 1280 yards in one skein! note: bigger than her head.

nimbus… oh my goodness… the most divine angora/silk laceweight. like wearing a bunny around your neck!

another spectacular 1.5 pound skein of Empire.

Blithe, the sweater Jill designed for that fluffy Nimbus yarn.

Merino/cashmere sock yarn, color: Yosemite. isn’t her color sense incredible?

and Aurora, her merino/silk laceweight that takes color like no yarn i’ve ever seen. it’s LUMINOUS! i’m designing a crochet shawl in this yarn and i am in love with it!

it all makes perfect sense when you see this photo of the young Jill Draper, dressed as Rainbow Brite in a costume handmade by her mom.

NOW GO VOTE!!!!!
