it’s become a tradition now that in Spring i head up for a week of workshops at my pal Katherine Ferrier’s sweet studio space in an old school building in lovely Rockland, Maine. we’ve had these 2025 classes planned for a while now, but it’s high time i spread the word! this year we are offering three classes over 4 days. you can take just one, or two, or create your own sewing retreat by joining all three!

first up is Visible Mending, Patching and Darning, which i’m co-teaching with Katherine, on thursday evening, april 24. bring your hole-y clothes and socks and we will teach you to fix them up!

then we have the standby: Boxy Tee / Drapy Tunic on friday the 25th. some of called this one “life-changing”! whether this will be your first foray into pattern drafting, or you’ve got a few patterns under your belt, this chameleon of a garment makes the perfect “blank canvas” to become whatever you ask of it: tops, shirts, tunics, dresses, jackets, hoodies, blouses, coats, tanks, cardigans, sweatshirts, really anything but pants or skirts! this class includes a hearty vegetarian lunch, so you can fully immerse yourself into the day.

and the BIG FINALE is our piece de resistance: PIECE OUT INTENSIVE with Cal Patch + Katherine Ferrier PATCHWORK BOXY TOP THREE WAYS in 2 DAYS :: Saturday, April 26, 10am-5pm & Sunday April 27, 10am-3pm. every time we teach Piece Out, which until now has been a one-day class, everyone says “i wish i had another day!” so for the first time ever, we’re offering a two-day format! we are beyond excited to see what comes out of this! plus a lovely vegetarian lunch is included both days.

as of writing, we still have a few spots open in each class. you can find all of the class descriptions and registration links over on Katherine’s website. we sincerely hope you’ll consider joining us for these special workshops.
