here i was thinking i was going overboard with the ‘around the yard’ posts, and as it happens i completely missed june! honestly i could do them every week, so entranced am i after 18 years of nature deprivation. the concept that all of this is going on right outside my door, and that i can enjoy it any time i want with complete privacy (try that in Central Park) is still just amazing…
still, it’s not all idyllic around here; we lost 2 more chickens to a fox (we think) last weekend. now we have only three. that’s Joan and Betty above, squashing my pansies. they are still here, along with Trudy (who spent the following night perched high atop the apple tree, out of reach) but Lois and Jane are not, and we miss them terribly!
i will do another post tomorrow about all of the excitement brewing in the VEGETABLE garden. stay tuned!
