going back to cali: Stitches SoCal

it’s TRUE! i’m super excited to report that i’m headed back to California for the second time this year, and this time to Southern Cali, which i’ve been to only once in my life, about 20 years ago! needless to say, i’ve never taught anywhere in that vicinity before, so i’m hoping all of you who’ve been asking for years WHEN i’d come teach in the LA will find out in time…

ok i suppose i should actually give you the details, eh? i’ll be teaching 4 classes at the first-ever Stitches SoCal, at the Pasadena Convention Center, from November 1-4. which features a huge marketplace and workshops in knitting, sewing, weaving, felting, crochet, spinning and way more! teachers include Franklin Habit, Xandy Peters, Grace Akhrem, Natalie Redding, Anna Zilboorg, Lily Chin and more than 25 others. this is a BIG event!

the classes i’m teaching are my Studio Apron from Making magazine, a lovely simple project that’s a perfect way to get reacquainted with sewing, Folk Dress, one of my favorite simple garments for embellishing with embroidery or block printing (though it’s wonderful just as it is too!) and can also be made as a blouse or tunic, One-Day Skirt, a fantastic intro to sewing your own wardrobe, and Pattern Drafting for Knitters, in which you’ll learn my basic techniques for drafting a simple pattern to help you in creating your own projects. last i heard there were still a few spots open in each, but they are filling fast so you’ll want to grab yours quickly!
