Hand Sew a Shirt video class

YIPPEE!!! the class you’ve been waiting for is finally here!

i’ve been teaching my Hand Sew A Shirt class for a few years now, as both virtual and in-person classes, and as of today you can now access it as a video class too!

there are so many reasons to love sewing by hand, but in a nutshell, it’s that it takes sewing into the realm of handwork and eliminates the machine stress that lots of people experience. hand sewing is quiet, meditative, portable, and slow, just like your crochet or knitting. and even thought it is — yes– SLOW, if you directly compare it to machine sewing, the fact that you can carry it with you on planes and trains (or just from room to room) means you will find a few minutes here and there throughout your days, and before you know it that shirt (or dress or skirt or t-shirt or pants…) is DONE!

i love having my classes available as videos on Creativebug, because it makes them so accessible (in terms of both cost and reach), and also they are wonderful reference resources to those who have taken my in-person and virtual classes.

as you may know, my links to Creativebug are indeed affiliate links, (the only ones i use), and are in line with my principles because (obviously) i teach with them! if you subscribe via one of my links, i will get a small commission and so this is one way you can help support me, and i thank you sincerely for it! currently they are offering a 60-day free trial, and after that the cost is under $6/month, plus you get a credit to choose one class every month to keep forever. it’s a pretty good deal! and just wait until you see ALL the incredible classes and teachers that are included in your subscription! sewing, painting, knit + crochet, quilting, embroidery, leatherwork, paper crafts… there are fantastic projects for kids too, and my favorites: the Daily Practice series.

lastly, how stinkin’ CUTE is this fabric from Anna Graham of Noodlehead? i love it so much! i think Anna does such a fantastic job of designing prints that work great for garments, with lots of neutral grounds and a few pops of color but not too overwhelming. this Quarry Trail collection has been one of my faves so far (i adore the oak leaves print too) and i can’t wait to see what she does next.
