…since i was at Squam Art Workshops in September? sheesh. life moves WAY too fast for me.
this session was a fun change since i didn’t teach; i worked as a helper and got to actually TAKE classes which was really really amazingly unbelievable. i made books with cool girls Marisa and Swirly. i learned how to care for my creative soul with the wondrous Jen Lee. and i made a wooden toolbox with Terri (only at SAW could i end up in a woodworking class with a teacher who keeps comparing power tools to sewing machines!), all of which were awesome. the September sessions are about creative and visual arts (June was fiber and textile arts) so there were lots of gorgeous paintings, collages, and handmade ukeleles on the gallery table in the dining hall this time around. and of course i had a table at the Squam Art Fair the final night (yes, that’s why i still haven’t managed to fill up the shop again… they wiped me out!) alongside my buddy Jen of Raeburn Ink who came in for the evening.
it was great to see so many friends from the June session, and to be back as a learner, seeing how things work from the opposite perspective. the classes i took were all in subjects outside of my usual comfort zone, which was refreshing. the lake was glorious, the air was crisp, and we made full use of the fireplaces and down comforters! Jonatha performed, Michelle gave us all an afternoon yoga session, Thea documented… and i made about a hundred new friends too.
you can see many more photos of the good times here.
