clay, wood & cotton

on saturday morning i drove an hour south and taught an embroidery class at clay, wood & cotton in beacon, ny. this was my first visit to the newish shop and it is adorable. it is owned by handmakers kristen (of cakehouse) and kristy (of beacon bookmarks). they carry exquisite hand-crafted home goods, textiles and ceramics, and i coveted nearly everything on the (amazing-and-made-from-old-locker-room-benches) shelves, especially may luk’s ceramics, wonderfluff printed textiles, and those beeswax kitty candles. if you are ever in or near beacon, do check it out, and in the meantime, you can shop online too!

the class itself was full and the ladies were all great fun; one of my students shows off her stitchwork over here.
