miss patch’s new improved berry patch

while my mom was visiting from ohio, we did a lot of gardening. she decided to tackle the overgrown bramble pile we call the berry patch. if only we took a ‘before’ photo… but we could never have imagined how it could be transformed into what we have now: stone-lined mulched paths between well-behaved berry bushes, which we hope we can mold into tunnels when they are tall enough to join at the top. mom actually realized when it was all done that the path is shaped like a lower-case letter ‘h’ (as in *hodge podge*) which was completely unintentional! i’ll take a better photo to show you…
