RIP peggy 5/4/10-6/9/10

poor miss peggy, she never really had a fighting chance. her beak was a little crooked the day i brought her home, but instead of improving, it got much worse. she seemed to eat all the time, but obviously she just couldn’t get enough into that tiny belly. her sisters are all three times her size. she passed in her sleep last night; i found her gone this morning and buried her in the woods in the rain. i knew all along the outlook was bleak, but she had such a plucky little spirit. she would fly right into my lap, and try to sit on my feet as i walked around. i tried not to get too attached, but she was a charmer. i know that a real farmer has to get used to these things. but it won’t be easy…
