around the yard (may edition)

i had so much fun documenting what was happening in the yard last month (ok, it was actually only 2 weeks ago, but the photos were all from april), that i think i may have to do it every month. at least this first year, when every week there is a new surprise as we see what blooms, and soon, FRUITS! we have one mystery fruit that i need to get a better photo of to show you. we find them around on the ground in the woods, but can’t figure out where it’s growing. and our baby nectarine tree seems to have little fruits, despite the nurseyman’s warning that it would probably take a few years. we’ve already eaten three strawberries, and the apple tree is covered in swelling applets! new discoveries in the last few weeks: PINK honeysuckle, in addition to yellow, a second crop of really cool daffodils that smell delicious, violets all over, buds on the berry bushes, and poison ivy lurking EVERYWHERE.
