studio postcard #1

hello! happy new year! here we are, 2022, wow. these are strange times, that’s for sure. i’ve never been more thankful to have my textile pursuits than in the past two years. my work table is messy but i’m working on some projects that i’m really excited about… more on those soon!

i love january. i embrace this time each year to hibernate and regroup and plan projects and workshops for the year ahead. this year, Winter isn’t quite as quiet as usual, because the virtual teaching keeps going through all seasons. and i actually have some in-person classes coming up, so i thought i should alert you in case you are interested! i’ve started building my teaching page for this year, though there is more to come. in some cases i can’t announce a workshop until the venue does, so stay tuned, but a lot is already posted.if you are local-ish to me, in the Hudson Valley or NYC, i’m teaching 2 classes at my favorite fabric shop, Beetle & Fred in Beacon on saturday 1/29: Intro to Embroidery and Crochet Rag Rug. both are wonderful skills to brighten up the dark days of Winter, and minimal tools are required. i’d love to see you at one, or make a whole fiber-fun day and come to both!on the virtual front, there are still some spots available in my popular Sew a Hand-Stitched Shirt class, part of the February Stitches At Home event. this one usually sells out, so grab one of those spots if you’re interested.and in March i’m flying to California to teach 6 classes at Stitches West in Sacramento (new location this year!). some of those are sold out but we added second sessions to accommodate more students.

hope to see you soon somewhere, in person or on my screen! keep on stitching!
